SIMON LIDDIARD

FOUNDER

Simon, the founder of Blue Marlin Dive, is a highly accomplished diving instructor with over 32 years of experience. Under his leadership, Blue Marlin has become one of Indonesia’s largest dive operators, with locations across the Gili Islands, Lombok, and Komodo. A TDI Trimix Instructor Trainer, IANTD Advanced Trimix Instructor, and PADI Course Director, Simon is widely respected for his expertise in technical diving and Closed Circuit Rebreathers (CCR).


With more than 10,000 dives, including over 300 beyond 100 meters, Simon has a deep passion for underwater exploration. He discovered iconic dive sites like the Japanese WWII Wreck and Simon’s Reef in the Gili Islands and once set the record for the deepest solo trimix CCR dive at 150 meters. Recognized with PADI’s “Outstanding Contribution to the Dive Industry” award, he now teaches technical diving in Gili Trawangan, the UK, and Gozo, passing on his knowledge to the next generation.

CHRIS GAMLIN

SHOP MANAGER

Chris, a Marine Biologist from the UK, manages Blue Marlin Dive Tech with a passion for technical diving that blends curiosity, adventure, and leadership. Known for his patient and calm demeanor, he creates a supportive environment for both beginner and advanced divers, encouraging them to push their limits.


With a love for underwater photography and deep-sea exploration, Chris brings energy and enthusiasm to every dive. As an Advanced Trimix diver, he specializes in TDI open circuit and JJ-CCR rebreather courses, guiding divers through their first steps in rebreather diving and leading deep dives down to 100 meters around the Gili Islands.

MENG CHAO

TDI DIVE INSTRUCTOR

MC, a multitalented instructor from China, works as a dive instructor with Blue Marlin Dive since 2021. With a passion for nurturing divers from beginners all the way to technical diving.


As an experienced designer and engineer he is tutor of a Design Academy in China, also works as an underwater photographer, he is passionate with all the new techs and gadgets about diving and deep dives, willing to share his knowledge and experience for all levels diver.


He could teach in multi languages including English, Chinese Mandarin, Cantonese. As a TDI Advance Trimix Diver and TDI instructor, he runs TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures course and leading deep dives down to 100 meters around the Gili Islands.

Elizabeth Lindsay

TDI DIVE INSTRUCTOR

Elizabeth “Blair” Lindsay, originally from California, USA, is a Diver Medic, TDI Instructor, and Technical Dive Guide at Blue Marlin Dive. She holds an Extended Range certification on open circuit as well as a MOD 3 Advanced Mixed Gas certification on her JJ-CCR. 

Blair is passionate about guiding and educating divers at all levels, ensuring every dive is both safe and memorable. She also brings a splash of personality to technical diving — trading the traditional all-black gear for vibrant colors, with her bright pink fins becoming a familiar sight to those who dive with her.

Lea Perz

TDI DIVE INSTRUCTOR

Lea was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and spent over a decade working as an Executive Chef, leading kitchens from New York City to Los Angeles and several places in between. Three years ago, she left the culinary world to pursue her passion for technical diving in Southeast Asia.


Since then, Lea has worked and dived extensively across Indonesia and the Philippines, gaining experience in some of the world’s most dynamic underwater environments. She recently completed a six-month Technical Diving Instructor internship with Will Goodman and is now Blue Marlin Dive’s newest team member.


Lea teaches TDI Nitrox, Intro to Tech, Sidemount, DPV, Advanced Nitrox Decompression Procedures, and Extended Range. She is a MOD 2 JJ rebreather diver and loves guiding other technical divers both open and closed circuit. She is passionate about mentoring and inspiring more women to take the leap into technical diving, showing that the sport is open to everyone.
